Announcements : A Message from CWA Dist 4
Posted by Dave Skotarczyk on 2020/6/5 9:33:53 (106 reads)

Sisters and Brothers,

I hope that all of you and your families are doing well and staying safe.

As you are all aware, recently a communication was sent by the Company to all employees (both bargained for and non-bargained for) which was intended to be an informative overview of the new direction(s) AT&T, and its various operations, are heading in. The reality is the message presents cause for serious concern for our members and our Union. As these changes develop, we are continuing to engage the leadership of AT&T, at all levels, to determine the impact they will have on our members and will share with you the information that is available, when it is available.

It was noticeably clear in that correspondence, the Company has plans to downsize personnel at all levels. Not unlike all other past workforce reductions, the Union has continually pushed the Company to proactively offer voluntary separation offers to alleviate any potential future forced reduction of our members.

With that being said, we wanted to inform Local Presidents that the District and Company have been in discussions regarding an Enhanced SIPP offer for certain core titles in the AFO organization and C/E here in the Midwest. Currently, we are still working through the details of the offer and the process.

Once the details of the final agreement are reached and the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is complete, it will be provided to each of you along with all documentation which will be given to eligible employees.

In Solidarity,

Curt Hess
