Important Announcements
Update: Now that SBC has merged with AT&T and changed their name to at&t, there is a lot of confusion on information posted on this web site. Going forward with the new at&t's terminology, we will now be referring to pre-merger SBC employees as "Legacy-S" and the pre-merger AT&T employees as "Legacy-T"

CWA Local 4050/4090 2010 COPE Drive

As the new contracts were being passed out, we had a COPE drive where we were very successful in signing up close to 40 new COPE members with a few of those members receiving awards for their contributions. Sean Flemming received a CWA watch for his generous contribution, Stephan Graham received a CWA COPE hat, and Anthony Womack received a CWA COPE mug.

I am surplused! Skills Match, Rehire and Recall What does it mean?
If you have 20 years of NCS then you would have 60 weeks of term pay coming. Under the ATTOP- Extended Compensation Option program, page 244 of the contract you take your termination pay a week at a time. While receiveing this you are put in the Skills Match Center. While in this Center you can look for a job in the transfer plan and you will have surplus status. When your Term pay is exhausted you no longer have surplus status in the Transfer plan and you removed from the Skills match center and you are separated from the company.

For 3 years from the time of your layoff date you have rights for rehire under “Career Rehire Placement Administration, page 255 of the contract. The Transfer Plan is still used however you do not have surplus status. Any member in surplus status would be above you on a list for the job opening.

Recall rights are for 3 years please see page 46 of the contract. The recall right applies to an opening in the Organization, Title and GCA from where you were surplused from.
